Itinerary: The Helicopter Expedition (7-10 Days)

Note: Due to the extreme remote location and tribal terrain, the helicopter route is the safest and most efficient method.

Day 01 – 02: The Gateway (Timika)

• Arrival at Mozes Kilangin Airport, Timika.
• Final equipment check, technical briefing, and medical clearance.
• Sorting out complicated Papua permits (Surat Jalan).

Day 03: The Aerial Insertion (Timika – Yellow Valley)

• Early morning chartered Helicopter flight over the dense Papua rainforest and the Grasberg mine.
• Direct drop-off at Yellow Valley Basecamp (4,300m).
• Acclimatization day to adjust to the thin air.

Day 04: Acclimatization & Training

• Technical training: Reviewing Jumar techniques, rappelling, and the Tyrolean traverse (crossing a horizontal rope over a deep abyss).

Day 05: The Summit Push (The Grey Granite Wall)

• 02:00 AM: Start the climb on the massive limestone face.
• The Ridge: Navigate the jagged “knife-edge” ridge and the famous gap using a fixed-rope traverse.
• 08:00 AM: Summit of Carstensz Pyramid (4,884m). Victory at the highest point of Oceania.
• 12:00 PM: Careful descent back to Basecamp.

Day 06 – 07: The Return

• Helicopter pickup from Basecamp back to Timika.
• Celebratory dinner and distribution of Summit Certificates.
• Flight back to Bali or Jakarta.
