Itinerary: The Selo Savanna Trail

Day 01: The Ascent to the Clouds

• 08:00 AM: Pickup from Yogyakarta or Solo (Airport/Hotel) and transfer to Selo Village.
• 10:00 AM: Medical check-up and registration at the Merbabu National Park office.
• 11:00 AM – 04:00 PM: The Trek Begins. Hike through the pine forests and open meadows. The trail is well-maintained and offers constant views of Mount Merapi behind you.
• 04:30 PM: Arrive at Savanna 2 (Campsite). This is arguably the most beautiful campsite in Indonesia, surrounded by rolling green hills.
• 06:00 PM: Sunset Above the Clouds. Watch the sky turn purple as the sun sets behind the silhouette of Mount Merapi.
• 07:00 PM: Gourmet mountain dinner and rest.

Day 02: The Triple Peak Victory (Summit Day)

• 04:00 AM: Wake-up call with hot tea/coffee and light snacks.
• 04:30 AM – 05:45 AM: Final push to the summit. The path is steep but short from Savanna 2.
• 06:00 AM: The Triangulation Peak (3,142m). Stand at the highest point of Merbabu. Enjoy a 360-degree panorama of Mount Merapi, Sumbing, Sindoro, Lawu, and even Mount Slamet in the far distance.
• 07:30 AM: Return to camp for a celebratory brunch.
• 09:30 AM – 01:00 PM: Descend back to Selo Village.
• 02:00 PM: Post-hike lunch and private transfer back to Yogyakarta or Solo. End of Expedition.
