Itinerary: The Latimojong Traverse

Day 01: The Highland Gateway (Makassar – Karangan)

• 08:00 AM: Private pickup from Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport (Makassar).
• 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM: A scenic overland drive through the South Sulawesi peninsula. Enjoy the view of the iconic Buttu Kabobong (Erotic Mountain) in Enrekang.
• 06:00 PM: Arrival at Karangan Village (1,450m). Immerse yourself in the local highland culture with an overnight stay at a traditional homestay.

Day 02: Into the Mossy Kingdom (Karangan – Pos 7)

• 08:00 AM: Trekking begins. The trail winds through lush coffee plantations—source of the world-renowned Kalosi Enrekang coffee.
• 10:00 AM – 04:00 PM: Enter the primary rainforest. Between Pos 5 and Pos 7, witness the spectacular Mossy Forest, where every branch is a living garden of epiphytes and ancient lichen.
• 05:00 PM: Camp setup at Pos 7 (Kolam Darah). Dinner is served amidst the misty, whispering forest.

Day 03: The High Plateau & Summit (Summit Day)

• 03:30 AM: The summit push. The forest thins into a sub-alpine plateau characterized by rugged rock formations and hardy shrubs.
• 06:15 AM: The Peak of Rantemario (3,478m). Celebrate at the highest point of Celebes as the sun rises over the Makassar Strait and the Gulf of Bone.
• 10:00 AM – 04:00 PM: Descend back to Karangan Village for a well-deserved traditional celebration feast.

Day 04: The Road Back to Makassar

• 08:00 AM: Farewell breakfast in the village before driving back to Makassar.
• 05:00 PM: Transfer to the airport. End of Expedition.
