Itinerary: The Vertical Odyssey
Day 01: The Jungle Entrance (Padang – Kersik Tuo)
- 08:00 AM: Private pickup from Minangkabau International Airport (Padang).
- 09:00 AM – 04:00 PM: A scenic 7-hour drive crossing the Bukit Barisan range and tea plantations.
- 05:00 PM: Check-in at a premium homestay in Kersik Tuo.
- 07:00 PM: Expedition briefing and dinner with views of the massive Kerinci silhouette.
Day 02: Into the Tiger’s Territory (Kersik Tuo – Shelter 3)
- 07:30 AM: Registration and medical check-up at the R10 Entrance Gate.
- 08:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Trekking through dense tropical rainforest (Pintu Rimba to Shelter 1). Keep an ear out for Siamang monkeys.
- 01:00 PM – 05:00 PM: The trail steepens. Conquer the famous “root climbs” to reach Shelter 3 (3,273m).
- 06:00 PM: High-altitude camp setup. Dinner above the clouds.
- 08:00 PM: Early rest for the summit push.
Day 03: The Summit of Indonesia (Summit Day – Padang)
- 03:00 AM: Wake-up call and light breakfast.
- 04:00 AM – 06:00 AM: The Summit Push. A challenging scramble over volcanic gravel and rocks.
- 06:15 AM: The Peak of Kerinci (3,805m). Experience the ultimate sunrise. On a clear day, you can see the Indian Ocean and the vast Sumatra jungle.
- 08:00 AM: Descend back to Shelter 3 for a full brunch.
- 10:00 AM – 03:00 PM: Trek back down to the village.
- 04:00 PM: Transfer back to Padang or stay overnight at the village. End of Journey.
