From the volcanic crater of Mount Gede to the mystical mossy forests of Mount Pangrango, experience a world-class trek through one of Indonesia’s oldest national parks. Itinerary: The Twin Peak Challenge (Cibodas – Putri Traverse)
Day 01: The Waterfall Trail & The High Plateau
- 07:00 AM: Meeting point at Cibodas Basecamp for registration and mandatory medical check-up.
- 08:30 AM – 12:00 PM: The Rainforest Trek. Pass the iconic Cibeureum Waterfalls and the blue-tinted Telaga Biru lake.
- 12:00 PM – 02:00 PM: Navigate the “Hot Springs” section—a narrow path where sulfurous water flows over the trail.
- 03:00 PM – 05:00 PM: Arrive at Kandang Badak (2,395m), the saddle between Gede and Pangrango.
- 06:00 PM: Camp setup and gourmet mountain dinner. Rest and prepare for the double-summit push.
Day 02: The Volcanic Rim & The Edelweiss Plain
- 04:00 AM – 05:30 AM: Summit 1: Mount Pangrango (3,019m). Trek through the dense mossy forest to reach the summit. Visit the legendary Mandalawangi Valley, a vast field of Edelweiss flowers loved by the famous activist Soe Hok Gie.
- 08:00 AM: Return to Kandang Badak for a quick refuel.
- 09:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Summit 2: Mount Gede (2,958m). Stand on the active crater rim with panoramic views of the steaming caldera and the distant city of Bogor.
- 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Descend to Alun-Alun Suryakencana, a massive 50-hectare meadow of Edelweiss.
- 01:30 PM – 05:00 PM: Final descent via the Gunung Putri trail—a steep but efficient route back to the base.
- 06:00 PM: Celebration meal and private transfer back to Jakarta or Bandung. End of Expedition.
