Itinerary: The Volcanic & Savanna Trail
Day 01: The White Crater & The Dead Forest
- 08:00 AM: Pickup from Bandung (Airport/Train Station/Hotel) and transfer to Cisurupan, Garut.
- 10:00 AM: Arrival at Papandayan Basecamp. Briefing and registration.
- 11:00 AM – 01:00 PM: The Crater Walk. Trek through the active crater zone with its dramatic white rocks and bubbling sulfur vents. The path is wide and accessible.
- 01:30 PM: Lunch break at the edge of the crater area.
- 02:30 PM – 04:30 PM: Continue trekking to Hutan Mati (The Dead Forest)—an iconic landscape of blackened trees against white volcanic sand. Perfect for high-end photography.
- 05:00 PM: Arrive at Pondok Saladah Campsite. Camp setup and sunset tea.
- 07:00 PM: Gourmet mountain dinner under the stars.
Day 02: The Kingdom of Edelweiss (Tegal Alun)
- 05:30 AM: Morning coffee and sunrise at the campsite.
- 07:00 AM – 08:30 AM: Ascent to Tegal Alun, the largest natural Edelweiss meadow in West Java. A serene, mystical plateau that feels like a dream.
- 09:30 AM: Return to Pondok Saladah for a celebratory brunch.
- 11:00 AM – 01:00 PM: Descent back to the basecamp via the “Gober Hoet” scenic route.
- 01:30 PM: Optional visit to the Papandayan Natural Hot Springs pool at the base of the mountain.
- 03:00 PM: Private transfer back to Bandung. End of Expedition.
