Day 1: Into the Wild
Welcome to Central Kalimantan, Upon arrival in Pangkalan Bun, you’ll be warmly greeted by our nationally certified Orangutan Journey guide. A private transfer takes you to Kumai Harbor, the gateway to Tanjung Puting National Park.

Your Private Klotok Experience, Step aboard your private traditional wooden riverboat (Klotok), your floating home for the next days. Your dedicated onboard team includes:

Tanjung Harapan Camp, 3:00 PM
Disembark for a 1 km guided jungle walk to Tanjung Harapan Camp, one of the park’s main orangutan rehabilitation sites. Witness your first orangutan feeding session, while your guide provides insight into:

River Safari & Evening on Board, After the feeding, return to the klotok for a leisurely river safari, searching for:

Day 2: The Heart of Orangutan Conservation
Morning on the River, Wake to the sounds of the rainforest as mist rises from the river. Enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast on board while the klotok cruises upstream for approximately one hour, deep into the protected heart of the park.
Camp Pondok Tanggui, 9:00 AM, Arrive at Camp Pondok Tanggui, an important orangutan rehabilitation and feeding site. Take a gentle forest walk to the feeding platform and observe the morning orangutan feeding session. Afterward, continue exploring the surrounding forest with your guide, gaining insight into:

- Rehabilitation and release processes

Lunch & Journey to Camp Leakey, Lunch is served on board during a 1.5-hour upriver cruise to Camp Leakey, the legendary orangutan research center established in 1971.
Camp Leakey, 2:00 PM
Upon arrival, you may be welcomed by semi-wild orangutans near the dock. Your guide will Introduce individual orangutans, Explain their personalities and social behavior, Share stories of decades-long research and conservation work.
Embark on a 1.5 km guided jungle trek through one of the oldest rainforests on Earth, discovering rare plant species, insects, and wildlife before witnessing the afternoon feeding session.
Evening Journey & Overnight, As the day winds down, cruise gently downstream while scanning the riverbanks for:

- Birds settling in for the night
Enjoy a relaxed dinner on board, then transfer to Rimba Lodge for an overnight stay, fully immersed in the rainforest atmosphere.

Day 3, People & Culture of Borneo
After days immersed in rainforest and wildlife, today offers a meaningful connection to the people and living culture of Borneo, revealing traditions that have shaped life along these rivers for centuries. Morning Cultural Experience, Begin the day with a visit to Pasir Panjang Village, home to a traditional Dayak longhouse.
Step inside and discover the rhythms of Dayak life as you learn about Dayak history, beliefs, and community traditions, Experience traditional Dayak dances, guided by local dancers and cultural experts, Gain insight into how ancient customs continue to thrive in modern Borneo. This intimate encounter offers respectful cultural exchange and deeper understanding.
In the afternoon, slow the pace with a tranquil sunset cruise along the Arut River aboard a traditional Getek canoe.
Glide past riverside homes and fishing boats, observing daily river life, local families and communities, golden reflections as the sun sets over Pangkalan Bun. A peaceful and reflective end to the day.
Day 4: Giving Back & Farewell
The final day brings your journey full circle, offering a chance to give back to the rainforest, reflect on your experiences, and explore the cultural heritage of Central Kalimantan before departure.
