Penatih to Ubud: Riding Through Bali’s Living Culture

The Penatih–Ubud Mountain Bike Tour is a relaxed and scenic ride, ideal for beginners who want to experience mountain biking in Bali’s most celebrated cultural area. The route offers an easy, enjoyable track that helps riders build confidence while gently developing essential mountain biking skills.

Starting from the city, the journey flows through traditional villages, local plantations, and Ubud’s iconic rice paddies. Along the way, you’ll gain insight into everyday Balinese life, surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful countryside that make the ride both refreshing and inspiring.

The tour concludes at a local warung, where you can unwind and enjoy authentic Balinese cuisine at the finish point. Fully supported by a knowledgeable tour leader and quality equipment, the Penatih–Ubud ride blends culture, comfort, and nature—making it a perfect introduction to mountain biking in Bali.

Accommodation and pick-up

For accommodation, we recommend staying in the Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Jimbaran, or Nusa Dua areas, as these areas are the most convenient from a logistically standpoint. If you are staying out from the list or farther away we can still pick you up, but it would be better if you discuss with us before and his may be subject to a surcharge.

Then for pick-up and departure points, our team offers pick-up to the departure point from where you are staying (hotel, villa, etc.)

• Distance : 27 km
• Start Elevation : 80 m to 400 m
• Ride Style : Mostly downhill | Scenic single track | Some dirt sections | Trail surface includes uneven terrain | With occasional obstacles, such as roots, rocks, sand.
• Riding time  – Around 3 hours & 30 minutes (include break time)
• Break point  – 1 time enjoying refrehments at van and Lunch at Nasi Ayam
